The Alexandria Curling Club’s Opening Bonspiel took place on October 18th and 19th, and here are the results!
Brian Radnor – Bonspiel Chair and helper J.C. Poirier Membership Draw Chair did a super job in getting us all out on the ice curling this past weekend. Thank you both for organizing such a fun time for all of us to enjoy.
Huge thanks to Jen Fraser, and Patty Nowry our club’s talented Bar Chair & Co-Kitchen Chair Convenors. And big thank you to all the members who jumped in and helped out in both the bar & the kitchen. That’s what it’s all about – volunteering & having fun doing it. Thanks as well to Jim Poulton and all his helpers with the ice maintenance – terrific job everyone!
First place was JC Poirier (skip), Alan Marriott (3rd) Samantha Young, Malcolm Marriott – JC skipped the Marriott family team – Dad Alan, daughter Samantha & son Malcolm. (By the way, this is Malcolm’s second time to win a bonspiel and he just started with the Learn to Curl group today)
Second place is Kevin Craig (skip), Ron Papps (3rd), Shane Papps (2nd), and lead Tina Craig.
Third place was a tie between Bill MacLeod’s team & Ray Cardinal’s team.
Guy Menard – he brought in his old antique modern jukebox. He created
a fun party atmosphere – nice music & colourful lighting – Thank you Guy! (remember he’s available for your next party)
