#1 – The registration is back up & running on the club’s website! Thanks to Kara & J.C. Our 2024 – 2025 curling season begins next week!
#2 – As most of you already realize the ice is available now for practice if you want. On Monday, October 14 from 7 – 9 there will be a delivery / refresher clinic at the club. Instructors are Ian Fraser, J.C. Poirier, Oene Ykema and Bob Jackson. You can show up anytime between 7 & 8:30 if you need some help with your delivery.
#3 – The Tuesday Ladder League begins its new season on Tuesday, October 15. Organizers Ian Fraser & J.C Poirier will be contacting the skips to let them know what time your team is playing. They are looking for another team to fill the roster (presently at 11 and they would like 12 teams) so if you & 3 buddies are interested in participating in this league contact them asap. #4 – Wednesday Night League & Thursday Night League begin Wednesday, October 16 & Thursday, October 17. Again Ian & J.C will be emailing the schedules to all that have indicated that they want to curl in these leagues.

#6 – A new daytime league to let you know about. We (Jim & I ) are starting a Sturling League on Friday Daytime curling. Each team consists of two players with one member staying at each end of the rink. The two delivering players alternately deliver 6 stones each per end while their teammate skips that end. Then the roles are reversed with their partners delivering their rocks back. No sweeping between the hog lines with sweeping only allowed after the rock passes the hog line. The game is quick with usually lots of rocks in play. Team Players can be two stick players or two regular players or one stick & one regular. We want to begin this league on Friday, October 18 daytime. Contact me (Flora floraandjim@xplornet.com) if you are interested in playing in this ’new” to us league. Must be a full member to participate.
