So hard to tear myself away from the Scotties coverage.
Wow – a great curling day today at the Alexandria Curling Club. Convenor Brian Radnor welcomed 12 teams that travelled to the club from Brownsburg, Lachute, Ormstown, Royal Montreal, Hudson Whitlock, Cornwall, Lancaster, Maxville, Vankleek Hill, Huntingdon, and Valleyfield. No cancellations – no one was late! These curlers weren’t afraid of any old snowstorm lol
Brian wants to extend congratulations to Michel Campeau & his team (with Alexandria super spare Emile Trepanier) from the Ormstown Curling Club! They won the Alexandria Curling Club’s Senior Bonspiel Jug! To Brian and all his volunteers – great job – all of you made this day such an enjoyable experience for our visitors and made our club proud!
Jen Fraser provided an absolutely delicious roast turkey dinner for the curlers. Jim Poulton got his usual rave reviews from the curlers for his super ice conditions. Of course Brian, Jen and Jim had a great crew of volunteers helping them all day so huge thank you to all of them (enjoy the attached photo)
This week Friday night curlers can enjoy a great lunch of Sloppy Joes provided by the team of Donaldson MacLeod. Also we can enjoy music tomorrow night provided by our favourite fellow club members – Denis Barsalo, Bob Lemieux and Richard Daigneault! And don’t forget to purchase a 50-50 ticket!!
