Hello all!

Exciting month ahead of us, with lots of upcoming events. First and foremost however, I’d like to thank Jen Fraser and her team of volunteers for last month’s fantastic Valentine’s Day dinner. The kitchen served close to 150 delicious meals that night and received very high praise! It’s events and volunteerism like this that go a long way to help keep our little club afloat!

For Thursday evening curlers, just a quick reminder that we will be starting a new draw, and if you wish to play in it, please contact Ian by emailing gleneil@xplorenet.ca by Sunday night to simplify the organisation process.

This month we will be hosting a number of events here at the club. See below for a lasting of events, but here is everything that you need to know!

The annual men’s invitational Moose Bonspiel returns again this year and we are still looking for a couple of teams to round out the event. If you are interested in playing in this event please email Duncan as soon as possible at duncan.ferguson20@gmail.com with an entry. This is always an exciting event that showcases excellent curlers from around the region.

We will be hosting the Glengarry Cup here at the club later this month and a signup list will be posted in the lounge this week. For those of you that are not familiar with this event, it is a yearly competition between Lancaster, Maxville and ourselves. Each club submits one men’s, one lady’s and one mixed team to the event. You must sign up with a complete team, and if there are more than one team for any category we will have playdowns between the interested teams prior to the event. A final point to remember, to be eligible for the event each player must have been a full member at the club for a minimum of the last 3 years.

  • March 4, 5: Industrial Bonspiel
  • March 11,12: Moose Bonspiel
  • March 19: Beginner Bonspiel
  • March 26: Glengarry Cup

Finally, we will be raffling off some exciting curling merch over the course of the next month. Stay tuned for details, but rumour has it that a team Gushue broom is up for grabs!

Duncan
